This program makes it possible to divide a file into several smaller file fragments and join again. This is useful if large files should stored on multiple volumes. For choosing the size of the file fragments, standard sizes are avaiable such as floppy disk, ZIP drive, CD or custom sizes. For easy joining of the split files it can be also created a batch file.

Split a file

  1. Choose the action
    Choose action "Split".

  2. Size of a file fragment in bytes
    Define the maximum file size of one file fragment.

  3. Choose a file
    Choose a file to split.
    To open a file to split, you have the following options:
    • Dialog "File open"
    • Drag the file on the program-window (Drag & Drop)
    • Context menu Send to "Splitting"

  4. Choose a directory
    Choose a directory to save the file fragments.

  5. Start
    Click on "Start" to execute the action.

Join the file fragments

  1. Choose the action
    Choose action "Join".

    Choose action "Join".
  2. Open the *.spx-file
    Open the file with the file extension *.spx, that's created with the file fragments. This file contains all information to join the file fragments. To open this file, you have the following options:
    • Dialog "File open"
    • Drag the file on the program-window (Drag & Drop)
    • Context menu Send to "Splitting"
    • Double click of the file (*.spx)

    Open the file with the file extension *.spx, that's created with the file fragments.
  3. Choose a directory
    Choose a directory to save the joined file.

    Wählen Sie das Verzeichnis in dem die Datei gespeichert werden soll.
  4. Start
    Click on "Start" to execute the action.
